Reds over the world, who truely loves our club including players, staffs and fans, must be disappointed and devastated of another poor result against the biggest rivals.
I’m disappointed with Mascherano’s stupidity of approaching the referee Bennett having already carried a yellow card. I agreed with the live commentator’s view that the first yellow card was a harsh one. But once Macherano got the yellow card, he should be careful and controlled his emotions and reactions.
Apparently, Bennett marked Mascherano as target person. We saw enough of some players blaming to referee of being fouled several times. It was the fact Torres had been treated. That was the scene behind Torres receiving an atonishing yellow card from Bennett, leading Macherano’s questioning the decision. Benett felt irritated and he had prepared to pick the yellow card from his pocket even Macherano had not walked to him. Maybe I was biased, I felt that the referee held differential treatment against fouls committed by two team players – one team was treated with repeated verbal warnings while the other was given yellow card without prior verbal warnings. There were five yellow cards shown (2 against Mascherano leading to sending off) and I thought the one against Torres and the second one against Mascherano were ridiculous if the first one against Mascherano was harsh but still ok! From my point of view, the referee’s performance was as poor as our players yesterday.
The team played at the acceptable level for a short spell only in second half before they got tired. Since start of the first half, our players were lack of confidence, even Reina showed such disbelief. I got the feeling at that time that we could not got good result but I couldn’t imagine that yesterday was nighmare. I failed to sleep whole night afterwards.
I was very down at the moment and this feeling, as in everytime we could not got victories or satisfactory results, would last for until next match. While
The bad thing is we could only wait for coming Sunday against another arch rivals Everton. I will be unhappy till Saturday before gearing up on Sunday of supporting our players to rectify the result against Everton. Also there will be an international break mid-week so most of our players could not train together. The only positive thing was that most players would have a match midweek to play for their countries so that their disappointment would be less apparent after returning to Liverpool.
